Screw piers — also called screw piles or helical piers — are steel foundation piles with helical (screw-shaped) plates that are mechanically rotated into the ground. Once installed, they carry structural loads directly into stable soil strata below the surface, bypassing the problematic top layers that cause cracking, shifting, and movement in conventional footings.
